Passengers planning to travel home for Onam alerted; extra caution advised, airlines issue guidelines

ABU DHABI: Passengers flying from the UAE to India have been advised to check their flight status before travelling. This comes amid cancellations and changes to several flight services to various destinations. However, the advisory does not apply to all flights. The warning has been issued as UAE airports enter the busiest phase of the summer travel season.

With many people travelling home for celebrations such as Onam and India’s Independence Day, congestion at airports is increasing. Airlines and airport authorities have informed passengers that additional time may be required to complete security procedures at the airport.

Passengers travelling to airports in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram have also been advised to arrive early.
