RIYADH: A 63-year-old expatriate from Nedumangad in Thiruvananthapuram died after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the road after offering Isha prayers at a mosque in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday night.
The deceased has been identified as Shahjahan, a native of Poika Veedu in Nedumangad. The accident occurred when he came out of a mosque in the Shifa area of Riyadh after prayers and attempted to cross the road. A vehicle hit him, throwing him to the ground. Although he was rushed to a hospital, he later succumbed to his injuries.
Shahjahan had been working as a hotel employee in Riyadh for several years. His son, Mujeeb, who is in Dubai, has left for Riyadh following the tragedy. Shahjahan was the son of the late Muhammad Yusuf and Shareefa Beevi. He is survived by his wife, Abida Beevi, and children Mujeeb, Mushtaq and Mumtaz.
