ABU DHABI: Three Malayalis were among five winners of Dh100,000 each in the Big Ticket Series 289 draw, with the other two winners from Bangladesh.
The three Indian winners were Akhil Chandran R P, Saidalavi Kariodan Varichalil and Sarath Sasidharan. The two Bangladeshi winners were Sabuj Md Delowar Munshi and Arifuzzaman Shuvo, according to the Big Ticket winners list.
Akhil Chandran R P, 28, who works in sales and customer service, has been working in the UAE for five years. He said he participates in the Big Ticket draw every year with his friends. This was his first win, with the winning ticket selected by one of his friends.
Saidalavi Kariodan Varichalil, who has been living in the UAE for 17 years, works as a school watchman. He said he had been participating in the Big Ticket draw for the past four years.
Sarath Sasidharan, who works as a technician in the UAE, had also purchased the ticket along with his friends.
Arifuzzaman Shuvo, who lives in Ajman, purchased the winning ticket along with 10 friends. Sabuj Md Delowar Munshi, the other Bangladeshi winner, has been working in the UAE for seven years and said he had been participating in the Big Ticket draw for four years before winning the prize.
The Series 289 draw also saw Filipino national Reynaldo Herboso win the Dh20 million grand prize.
