Rachita Ram, who began her acting career in Kannada cinema, shot to pan-Indian attention with Rajinikanth’s Coolie. She made her acting debut with Bulbul in 2013 and has since appeared in several films. However, Coolie gave her wider recognition beyond the Kannada film industry. Her film I Love You, in which she starred alongside Upendra, had earlier faced criticism over a song sequence. Now, a video from the actress’s birthday celebrations has gone viral on social media.
Rachita Ram is celebrating her 34th birthday on Saturday. The actress has a tradition of meeting her fans in person every year on her birthday. However, the behaviour of a young fan who came to meet her on the eve of her birthday has sparked discussion. The fan first took a selfie with Rachita Ram and then shook hands with her. He suddenly grabbed both her cheeks, leaving the actress visibly shocked by the unexpected gesture.
The video soon went viral on social media, triggering widespread discussion. Many criticised the fan for touching the actress without her consent and stressed the importance of respecting celebrities’ personal boundaries.

Following the first video, several similar clips surfaced on social media. In another video, a fan is seen behaving in a similar manner with Rachita Ram during Saturday’s event, leaving her visibly uncomfortable. Videos of women also pinching the actress’s cheeks have been circulating online.
Later, a video in which Rachita Ram addressed the incidents also surfaced. She said the fans had no bad intentions and explained that their actions were driven by their admiration for her.
