After completing his portions in Om alongside Dhanush, Mammootty has joined the sets of director Nithish Sahadev's next, the ninth production venture of Mammootty Kampany. The actor announced his arrival on the film through social media, sharing pictures from the location.
The film, directed by Nithish Sahadev after Falimy, went on floors in Karaikudi on July 28. A 50-day schedule is currently under way there and is expected to continue until the middle of September before the production moves to its next phase.
Joining Mammootty in the cast are Jean Paul Lal, Siddharth Bharathan and several newcomers.
Planned as a 100-day shoot, the film will also be shot in Ernakulam. Billed as a comedy entertainer, it is scripted by Nithish Sahadev and Anuraj O.B., with cinematography by Jimshi Khalid and music by Vishnu Vijay. Aroma Mohan is the production controller.
The project is being positioned as a mass entertainer and is said to be Mammootty Kampany's biggest production yet in terms of budget. It also marks the banner's next venture after the blockbuster Kalamkaval.
Meanwhile, the final schedule of Om is progressing in Tiruvannamalai and is expected to wrap up in the coming days. Mammootty joined Nithish Sahadev's film after completing his role in the project, in which he shares equal prominence with Dhanush.
Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy after the blockbuster Amaran, Om – Chapter 1: Udhiram (The Blood Wood) is reportedly eyeing an October 16 theatrical release.
The film is produced by Wunderbar Films in association with Artek Studios and also stars Naseeruddin Shah, Indrans, Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela.
