‘I wanted Suchitra Mohanlal for Thudakkam, but she pulled out at the last second’

Thudakkam, which marks the acting debut of Visamaya Mohanlal as a lead actress, hit the theatres on Friday. Directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, the film also features Mohanlal in a cameo role. The film’s producer, Antony Perumbavoor, and his son Ashish Jo Antony are also part of the cast. Meanwhile, an interesting detail related to the film’s casting has come to light.

Director Jude Anthany has revealed that he had wanted Suchitra Mohanlal, Mohanlal’s wife, to be part of the film as well. Jude said that he had requested her to be a part of the film and hoped that her presence would have turned the film into a complete family affair. He also revealed that Mohanlal had agreed to it.

‘I asked chechi several times. I told her that the film would be complete only if she joins the cast. She didn’t come and backed out at the last moment. There was every possibility of making this a complete family film. Lal sir had also agreed to it. But chechi kept saying, ‘No, no, I won’t come,’ said Jude Anthany.
