NEW DELHI: An Air India flight from Phuket to Delhi endured severe turbulence. More than 10 passengers and two crew members were injured. The incident took place on Monday when Flight AI2379 got hit by turbulence. Passengers said that the incident occurred about an hour and a half after the flight took off.

The flight was uncontrollable in the air for more than three minutes. It is reported that passengers were thrown from their seats. The impact of the strong turbulence caused a crack in the cabin ceiling of the plane.

Air India said that the flight later landed safely in Delhi and the injured passengers were admitted to the airport's medical centre for primary treatment. The authorities said that the safety of passengers and crew is their priority and an investigation has been initiated into the incident. Meanwhile, the passengers said that they will take legal action against Air India in the incident.
