CHENNAI: The police have identified the body inside a red suitcase found abandoned on the Chennai-New Delhi Tamil Nadu Express. The police have identified the woman murdered as Haidul Nisha (38) of Paramakudi in Tamil Nadu. The rest of the decomposed body parts found in a trolley bag believed to be hers were recovered from a house in Guduvanchery on Friday, said the police.
The police have intensified search for Assam native Manik Uddin Laskar and his partner Bhagwati Majhi of Odisha suspected to be involved in the murder. A lookout notice has also been issued for them. The police have also released the CCTV footage of the two leaving the railway station with a bag.
The police got crucial information after examining the CCTV cameras at Chennai Central and Guduvanchery railway stations. The footage shows the accused arriving at Chennai Central station with a red suitcase, boarding a train, and then getting off the train and going to Guduvanchery in an auto.
Manik Uddin Laskar and his partner Bhagwati Majhi lived in a rented house on Mosque Street in Guduvanchery. The initial conclusion of the police is that both may have fled to Odisha after switching off their mobile phones. A special investigation team has been sent to Odisha to nab them.
A red suitcase, dripping with a blood-like liquid and emitting a foul odour, was found abandoned on the Chennai-New Delhi Tamil Nadu Express on August 5. On being informed by passengers, the Agra Railway Police opened the bag and found the body of the woman, chopped into pieces and covered in paper.
