THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is a new twist in the case involving the murder of Abhiram, a Plus One student, at Pangappara, Sreekaryam. Friends testified to the police that the murder was triggered by the circulation of private visuals of Ananda, the third accused in the case. Ananda is the girlfriend of the first accused, a 17-year-old. This statement was provided by their friends.

The accused and Ananda believed that it was Abhiram's friend who circulated the visuals. Consequently, they devised a plan to lure this individual—using Abhiram as an intermediary—and murder him. The police sought clarification on this matter from Aishwarya, the girlfriend of the second accused, Umar.

Aishwarya was also arrested in connection with the case. Investigating officers intend to question the 17-year-old and Ananda regarding this matter. The Cyber Cell discovered that several chats have disappeared from Abhiram's Instagram account. An investigation is underway to find what led to the chats suddenly disappearing. Additionally, a video surfaced showing a group of individuals intercepting and arguing with the boy on the day before he was killed. The police obtained this video, which had been circulating in WhatsApp groups among Abhiram's friends. Efforts are currently being made to identify the individuals featured in the video.
