NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi agreed to cooperate to bring in investments worth Rs 10 lakh crore to India. The crucial announcements were made after the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit held in Delhi. The two countries reached an agreement on agreements to become the most decisive powers in Asia.
Agreements related to artificial intelligence, economic security, defense, healthcare, critical minerals and energy were presented in the discussion. The present discussion is about preparing for India and Japan to ensure technological and economic security in the future beyond traditional cooperation. The Prime Ministers' meeting agreed to cooperate to bring in investments worth Rs 10 lakh crore from Japan to India.
Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi informed that the number of Japanese companies investing in India will be doubled from the current level. It was also agreed to prioritize cooperation in maritime security and energy. This is the first official visit to India by Sanae Takaichi, Japan's first female Prime Minister.
Narendra Modi said that the summit is also a significant step in defence ties. He also informed that India and Japan have signed an agreement for the first defence cooperation development project involving the naval radio antenna 'Unicorn'.
