BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and his family purchasing land worth crores in Ujjain is grabbing headlines. A leading English daily reported that the chief minister and his family have acquired land on which the government intends to implement major development projects using their influence.

The report says Mohan Yadav, his wife Seema, son Vaibhav's wife Shalini Yadav, brothers Nandlal Narayan Yadav, his wife Rekha, their son Abhay Yadav, close relatives Govind and Nilesh Yadav and their real estate company have jointly purchased 168 acres of land.

Mohan Yadav was sworn in as the chief minister on December 13, 2023. After this, the land was purchased in the name of his family members and one of their four real estate companies. The main allegation is that the chief minister misused information received in advance about government projects for personal gains.

There is also strong criticism that the chief minister's close relatives have already started taking steps to convert many of the lands into large housing projects and reap huge profits. Protests against Mohan Yadav are intensifying in Madhya Pradesh after information about the huge land deals that took place under the guise of development, came to light. Despite the controversy surrounding the incident, neither the chief minister nor his relatives have yet stepped forward to respond.
