
KOLLAM: The mortal remains of a couple from Kottarakkara, who died after a speedboat capsized near Phu Quoc Island in southern Vietnam, will be brought to Mumbai airport at 10 pm on Monday with the intervention of the central government and the Indian embassy.
The Chief Minister's Office announced that NORKA will coordinate the arrangements to bring the bodies of Victory Group owner A.V. Thomas (57, Jomon) and his wife Launi Thomas (56) to Thiruvananthapuram airport the next day and take them to Kottarakkara. AV Thomas and his wife Launi were residents of ‘Aviyottu House’ in Chandamukku in Kottarakkara.
The procedure, including the post-mortem, has been omitted. The body will be shifted to the Pulamon Marthoma Jubilee Mandir Chapel for public viewing. The body will then be cremated at the family tomb in Valiyapalli, Kottarakkara, on Thursday. The bodies were brought to Hanoi City, the capital of Vietnam, by a passenger boat on Sunday. The bodies of the other 13 people have been brought to Hanoi City. Meanwhile, 15 people who survived the accident have returned to India. Currently, only one person is undergoing treatment.
