CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Tamil Vetri Kazhagam (TVK)-led front has been named the Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance (SSJVA). The decision was taken at a meeting held at the TVK headquarters in Panaiyur. The alliance includes the Congress, Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) and Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK).
TVK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay is the chairman of the alliance. The first meeting of the front decided to stand with the 'India' alliance at the national level. TVK will accept the prime ministerial candidate put forward by the 'India' front. Vijay will lead the elections in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The alliance partners in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry have decided to work together.
The tiff between TVK-Congress regarding this matter has been resolved after Vijay himself said in the meeting that he would accept the Prime Minister of the 'India' alliance at the national level. The candidates for the upcoming by-elections to Madhurantahkam and Dharapuram for the SSJVA will be announced today.
