Woman on bike hit by car for asking to maintain distance

GURUGRAM: A car allegedly hit a female bike rider and drove away without stopping. The visuals of a car deliberately hitting a woman biker has been circulating on social media. The woman has been identified as Siya, the owner of the Instagram page rebelwheels siya.

Siya said the incident happened yesterday while she was riding with a group of bikers on Golf Course Road in Gurugram. She alleged that a group of men in a car had been following them from the beginning of the ride and attempting to obstruct their journey. Siya also claimed that the occupants of the car were under the influence of alcohol.

The incident was clearly captured by the camera mounted on Siya’s bike. The footage shows Siya asking the occupants of the car to maintain a safe distance, after which they appear to become angry with her. The video shows the car approaching her bike from behind at high speed and apparently swerving deliberately toward her, causing the crash. The impact threw Siya onto the road, while her bike skidded several metres further.

Siya alleged that after the accident, a friend accompanying her chased the car and managed to stop the driver, but he denied responsibility and fled the scene. Sharing details including the vehicle’s registration number, Siya urged the police to take action in the matter. Several people have also come forward demanding that an FIR be registered in connection with the incident.
