PALAKKAD: It has been confirmed that the husband is suspected of murdering his wife and child in Attappady. The accused is a plantation worker and a native of West Bengal. He is believed to have fled to Bengal. The murder is suspected to have been committed due to his suspicion of his wife. The bodies and severed heads of the woman and five-year-old daughter were packed in three plastic sacks and abandoned.
The bodies were found with their throats apparently cut using a machine. The accused is believed to have purchased the sacks from a shop in the Kottathara area. The police are investigating whether the accused has got help from anyone else.
Bundles of sacks were found in three different spots along the banks of the Bhavani River in the Cheerakkadavu area of Puthur panchayat at 3 pm on Sunday. The people who had come to graze the cattle noticed the sacks. When a foul smell was emanating, they opened one of the sacks and found the human body parts. They immediately informed the Puthur police.
