The incidents took place at Althara Bhagavathy Temple, Varuvilakam Siva Nageswara Temple, Irattakalung Bhagavathy Temple and the house of a man identified as Murugesan at Praram.

At Althara Bhagavathy Temple, the thief broke open the offering box and stole the money inside. After attempting to steal from the other temples, the suspect proceeded to Murugesan's house.
