THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 15-year-old girl was killed after a KSRTC bus collided with a scooter at Dhanuvachapuram in Thiruvananthapuram. The deceased has been identified as Annapoornendu, a Class 10 student. The girl was travelling on a scooter with her father when the bus, which was coming from the opposite direction, hit the scooter.

The driver is suspected to have fallen asleep at the wheel, leading to the accident. The impact threw the girl onto the road, after which the bus ran over her. Her father, Ashokan, escaped with minor injuries.

Annapoornendu was travelling with her father from Dhanuvachapuram towards Amaravila when the accident occurred. Eyewitnesses said the bus driver got down and fled the scene soon after the accident.
