KOCHI: A case has been filed against a student for circulating morphed pictures of teachers and students. The incident took place at Bharat Mata College in Thrikkakara, Kochi. A case was filed against Srihari, a second-year BBA student. As per the complaint, he morphed photos of teachers and classmates and circulated them on social media.
"The obscene photos were circulated through Telegram and Instagram. Srihari was expelled from the college following the complaint. The morphed pictures were recovered from his phone," said college principal, Dr Soumya.
It was a former student who first informed a teacher about the disturbing incident on September 1. The next day, the college management investigated the complaint and informed the police. The principal also said that the help of the cyber police was sought.
Meanwhile, the students allege that the college authorities allowed Srihari to go with the local guardian even after the complaint was filed. The management was informed that some other students were involved in the crime along with Srihari. However, the students allege that the management did not take any action in this regard. One of the accused students was even allowed to write the exam. Protesting against this, the students are continuing their protest in front of the principal's office. They are demanding that the other accused students be found and arrested.
