BMW rented for wedding ends up in paddy field in Palakkad

PALAKKAD: A luxury BMW car rented for a wedding overturned into a paddy field at Thirumittakode in Palakkad. Seven people were in the car at the time of the accident. The car lost control on the bridge, hit a nearby tree and then overturned into the paddy field. All seven occupants escaped with minor injuries.

In a separate incident in Kochi, a 14-year-old student was injured after falling from a private bus at Wellington Island. The student, identified as Febin Federick, suffered an injury to his right shoulder. The student fell onto the road through the open rear door as the bus was taking a turn.

The boy's parents alleged that the bus staff were unwilling to take him to hospital following the accident. Based on their complaint, Thoppumpady police registered a case against the bus driver. The complaint was against a bus operating on the Aluva-Thoppumpady route, according to the information available.
