‘Reimagining Keralam’ workshop concludes with CM, ministers in attendance

KOZHIKODE: Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan and his Cabinet colleagues spent two days as students, attending sessions on Kerala’s future, development priorities and governance at the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K). The two-day leadership workshop, ‘Reimagining Keralam’, organised for Cabinet members, concluded on Saturday. The ministers listened to experts, raised questions and took part in group discussions on issues considered crucial to the state’s development.

The second day focused on strengthening Kerala’s economic foundation, entrepreneurship and skill development, and transforming the state into a centre of excellence in higher education. The final session dealt with generational change and positioning Kerala as a global brand. IIM-K Director Prof. Debashis Chatterjee and Prof. Anandakuttan Unnithan conducted the session.

The programme also included a photo session for Cabinet members, planting of an Ashoka sapling by the Chief Minister and a visit to the traditional gurukulam-style classroom inside the library.

The workshop generated ideas for new interventions in Kerala’s economic growth, fiscal sustainability, healthcare, welfare, climate resilience, entrepreneurship, skill development and higher education. Participants also exchanged ideas on strengthening the administrative system to make it more effective and people-centric.

The workshop concluded at 1.15 p.m. at MDC Classroom C1. The IIM-K director presented certificates to the Chief Minister and ministers. The Chief Minister presented the government’s gift to IIM-K Director Debashis Chatterjee.
