Record breaking sales for Thiruvonam Bumper; All printed tickets sold out

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvonam Bumper lottery has recorded unprecedented sales, with all the tickets printed for this year's Onam Bumper being sold. The Onam Bumper has set a record as the first lottery in which all the tickets printed have been sold. A total of 90 lakh tickets were printed this year. The figures were released just a day before the draw, which is scheduled to take place tomorrow.

This year's Onam Bumper has several distinctions. It leads in terms of the highest prize money and the largest number of tickets printed. Now, it has also set a record by selling every ticket that was printed.

The first prize of Thiruvonam Bumper 2026 is Rs 30 crore. The second prize of Rs 1 crore each will be awarded to 20 winners, while 20 people will receive the third prize of Rs 25 lakh each. The fourth prize of Rs 5 lakh each will go to 10 winners, and the fifth prize of Rs 2 lakh each will be awarded to 10 people. In addition, there are several prizes worth Rs 5,000, Rs 2,000, Rs 1,000 and Rs 500. The price of the ticket is Rs 500.

The remaining tickets purchased by retailers from the lottery department and wholesale agents are also expected to be completely sold out today and tomorrow. Of the 90 lakh tickets, Palakkad recorded the highest sales, with 20 lakh tickets sold.
