THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A fresh controversy has erupted within the Kerala State Lottery Directorate after several individuals reportedly approached various regional offices to claim prize money using lottery tickets that were officially recorded as unsold.

The claimants have brought forward tickets that were included in the unsold list maintained by the Neyyattinkara lottery office. According to those presenting the tickets, they are eligible for cash prizes of ₹5,000 and below.

In response to the development, the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) has submitted a formal complaint to the Lottery Director, demanding a thorough investigation into how unsold tickets made their way into public circulation and won prizes.

However, despite the gravity of the allegations and the receipt of the complaint, the Lottery Directorate has reportedly not yet requested a police probe into the incident.
