MUMBAI: A youngster died tragically after allegedly consuming too much alcohol during a music concert in Mumbai. Vrishabh Gangurde (28), a resident of Mahim, who had come with his girlfriend to a music concert held at NSCI Dome Worli in Mumbai, died. While attending the music concert, both of them collapsed in an inebriated state. They were immediately taken to Breach Candy Hospital. However, the doctors declared Vrishabh dead. His girlfriend was shifted to Jaslok Hospital, and her condition is said to be stable.

According to their statements to the police, the duo only drank alcohol and energy drinks. The police said that no other suspicious evidence was found. The police are examining CCTV cameras and other evidence from the place where the musical night took place. The initial conclusion is that the cause of death was a heart attack due to excessive alcohol consumption. The police said that forensic evidence and a postmortem report are needed to confirm this.

The police initially did not permit the music festival in Worli. But senior police officials later gave permission, overruling the decision of the local police. There are four liquor shops in the stadium where the event was held. The police have questioned eight people in connection with the incident.

This is the second such incident in the country in months. Two MBA students had died similarly during an event held at the NESCO Centre in Gurgaon in April.
