Driver found hanging in bus moments after talking to wife

KOZHIKODE: A private bus driver was found hanging inside the bus parked inside the Perambra bus stand. He has been identified as Harish (40) alias Monoottan, the driver of a bus operating on the Perambra-Vadakara route.

His wife Athira had called Harish at 10:30 pm last night, after he did not reach home after work. He said he would come immediately. However, when she called later, the phone rang but he did not pick up. The news of his death came to light when Harish's brother Prajeesh came in search of him at 5.45 am Tuesday morning. He was found hanging from the back door of the bus.

The locals and the police brought the body down. After completing the inquest proceedings, the body was shifted to the Perambra Hospital for postmortem. The Perambra police have registered a case of unnatural death in the incident.

Harish is the son of Sankaran and Devi from Kizhakka. Harish has two daughters Thanmaya and Alia studying in the lower primary and upper primary schools. His brother Prajeesh is also a bus driver.
