KASARAGOD: A 34-year-old man, who was recently released on bail after being arrested for attempting to murder his sister, was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside his residence at Adoor.
The deceased has been identified as Krishna Prasad, son of Raghu Rama Rao, residing at 'Sree Krishna Nilayam', within the Adoor police station limits.
The incident came to light on Sunday evening when local residents noticed a foul odour emanating from the locked house. Upon investigation, they discovered Krishna Prasad’s body lying on the floor in the living room.
Following a complaint lodged by Ward 8 member Vidya Mahesh, the Adoor police registered a case and initiated a probe.
According to police sources, Krishna Prasad had been remanded in custody following the domestic assault case and secured bail only recently. Following the incident, his parents, Raghurama Rao and Padmavathi, along with his younger sister Sreelatha, had relocated to Bengaluru to live with his other siblings, Sahana and Vaishali. Left with no family members around, Krishna Prasad had been living entirely alone in the house.
A preliminary post-mortem report conducted at the General Hospital suggests that chemical poisoning was the cause of death. The body has been handed over to the relatives after completing the necessary medical and legal formalities.
