THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Transport Department has initiated an investigation into irregularities surrounding the driving license of former Transport Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar. Following a controversy regarding the inclusion of the "MLA" title in the official government database and allegations that he obtained his license before reaching the legal age of 18, authorities have ordered immediate corrective action.
The Transport Commissioner has tasked the South Zone Deputy Transport Commissioner with conducting a thorough inquiry into the matter. Directives have been issued to the relevant licensing authority to immediately update the department’s database and remove the "MLA" title attached to his name.
Regarding the allegation that the license was issued prior to him turning 18, the department has launched a probe to identify the official responsible for the alleged procedural violation. Officials confirmed that strict legal action will be pursued against any officer found to have breached licensing norms during the issuance of the document.
