THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Drugs Control Department has banned the sale and distribution of several batches of Ayurvedic medicines after they were found to be of substandard quality during tests conducted at state drug testing laboratories in May 2026. The Deputy Drugs Controller (Ayurveda), who serves as the State Ayurvedic Drug Licensing Authority, directed traders, pharmacies and hospitals holding stocks of these medicines to return them to their distributors and report the details to the respective District Ayurvedic Drugs Inspectors.
