Man, son killed after speeding bus hits scooter

KANNUR: A man and his son were killed after a private bus hit their scooter in Mattannur. The two dead have been identified as Vinod (52) of Kolari in Iritty taluk and his son Vaishnav (25).

The accident happened this morning at Kooran Mukku. The private bus which was proceeding towards Mattannur hit the scooter. When the bus swerved to avoid
hitting the bike in front, it hit the scooter that Vinod and his son were riding, coming from the opposite direction.

Vinod and Vaishnav came under the wheels of the bus in the strong impact. The two were taken out after shifting the bus using a crane. They were immediately taken to the hospital, but their lives could not be saved. Another biker was also injured in the accident. The locals said the bus was speeding. The police have registered a case against the bus driver in the incident.
