PALAKKAD: A three-year-old girl, who climbed atop the sheet-roof of a building was miraculously rescued. The incident happened Friday evening at around 4 pm at Estate Padi, Alanallur in Palakkad. The incident came to light after the visuals surfaced.

The child climbed onto the roof of the building housing a plastic waste segregation unit operating here. She is the daughter of Assam couple working in the waste management unit. The little girl climbed up a sheet that had been propped against the shed and reached the very top of its roof, which is around 20 feet high. It was then that some nearby noticed her. They rushed to the spot but were unable to do anything. This led to loud cries of panic from the crowd, including women.

Shihab, a construction worker from Nannangadikkunnu in Athanippadi, climbed onto the shed and managed to bring the child down safely in a daring rescue after a long effort. The child is stable.
