MUNNAR: Senior CPM leader MM Mani returned to his old self, making yet another controversial remark while addressing a speech. Mani's controversial remark was made at the Abhimanyu memorial meeting held in Vattavada, Idukki, the other day. In his speech, Mani said that he could not be at Maharaja's College, Ernakulam, at the time of the murder, or else he would have taken matters into his own hands.
"Abhimanyu, who had gone for higher education, was brutally killed. It is not our party culture to spare those who touch our comrades. We have dealt with those who needed to be dealt with. Unfortunately, Abhimanyu was killed at Ernakulam. The accused would not have seen the light of day if it were in any other location. That is for sure. But we will not let this go." M. M. Mani said during his speech.
The remarks made by M M Mani against the Forest Minister a few weeks ago were also controversial. Mani had said that wild animals that pose a threat to human life should be dealt with and that there is nothing wrong with killing them. He criticised the new Forest Minister, Shibu Baby John, for not having any knowledge of the issue.
