KOCHI: There is no lapse from the side of the police in probing actress Ansiba Hassan's complaint against actor Tiny Tom, said Kochi City Police Commissioner S Kaliraj Mahesh Kumar. Issues within the association had come to light and that further action would be taken as soon as the court order is received, he said.

The Ernakulam First Class Judicial Magistrate Court on Tuesday directed the Kochi Police to register a case and investigate her complaint. She had alleged that Tiny Tom made communal remarks and insulted womanhood. However, after recording statements from Tiny Tom and witnesses, rejected the complaint stating that there was insufficient evidence to register a case. Ansiba then approached the Ernakulam First Class Judicial Magistrate Court.

Ansiba in her complaint alleged that following personal issues within the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), Tiny Tom referred her as a ‘jihadi’ and a religious extremist, and made defamatory remarks against her and her family.
