KASARAGOD: DYFI activists staged a strong protest against Minister O.J. Janeesh in Trikaripur, Kasaragod. The protest took place when the minister arrived for an event organised by the Youth Congress. Congress workers, led by Sandeep Varier, had also gathered to welcome the minister at the venue in Nadakkavu. The area became tense as DYFI and SFI activists mobilised to block the minister. A heavy police presence was deployed at the site.

Police used force to remove DYFI workers from the area upon the arrival of the minister. Youth Congress workers formed a shield to make it easy for the minister to walk to the hall and attend the event. Despite the minister going inside the hall, the protest continued.

Meanwhile, 14 DYFI workers were booked for attacking the minister’s vehicle near Taliparamba in Kannur. The FIR states that the minister's official vehicle was damaged. Charges have been filed under sections related to the destruction of public property, obstruction of official duty, and attempted rioting.
