Eyes set on highest-ever prize money! 'Mad' demand for Onam bumper tickets, sales likely to set new record

KATTAPPANA: The sale of Onam bumper lottery tickets is breaking the roof in Kerala. People are rushing to make the big purchase in the hope of winning the highest prize money ever offered in the history of the lottery department.

Onam bumper winner will take home Rs 30 crore. For the last four years, the first prize was Rs 25 crore. The ticket price is the same at Rs 500. This has led to the demand for the tickets soaring this season.

The Onam Bumper draw will be held on Saturday, September 26. Ten years ago, the first prize of the bumper was Rs 10 crore. With the increase in prize money, ticket sales are also showing a rise every year. Even people from other states are buying bumper tickets so as not to feel left alone. The lottery department is hoping for yet another record sales this year.
