Rain with thunderstorms predicted, strong winds likely in two districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the possibility of rain in the state over the coming hours. The weather department has informed that isolated areas of Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts are likely to receive light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms, along with strong winds reaching speeds of up to 40 kmph, during the next three hours.

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for several districts‌


4/10/2026: Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam
5/10/2026: Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Malappuram
6/10/ 2026: Idukki, Palakkad, Wayanad


Isolated heavy rainfall is forecast in these districts. Heavy rainfall refers to rainfall measuring 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm within 24 hours.
