Heavy rainfall forecast in Kerala today; Yellow alert in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department announced a possibility of heavy rain in the state today. Orange and yellow alerts have been issued in various districts. Today, an orange alert is in place in Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts and tomorrow in Kannur and Kasaragod districts. The possibility of very heavy rain has been predicted in isolated places. Rain accompanied by thunder is expected.

Heavy rainfall (ISOL H) is defined as rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours. The Indian Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of isolated rain with thundershowers and strong winds with a speed of 40 to 50 kmph from today to July 1 (01/07/2026).
