Three CPM leaders suspended for public drinking at local committee office in Palakkad

PALAKKAD: Three CPM leaders, including a local committee secretary, have been suspended by the party's district committee after they were allegedly caught drinking alcohol openly inside the party's Muthalamada local committee office in Palakkad.

The incident came to light after party workers questioned the leaders over their drinking. Videos of the incident went viral on social media, prompting the district committee to take action against local secretary Brijesh and two others, Rasheed and Suryaprakash.

The incident reportedly took place recently under the leadership of Muthalamada One Local Committee Secretary Brijesh. The visuals show Kollengode Area Committee member K. Siyavudheen and local committee member K. Vinesh, along with other workers, questioning the leaders over their conduct.

The videos also show a heated exchange between the two groups. Local secretary Brijesh is seen pushing party workers during the confrontation. The incident, which took place inside the party office, and the open protest by party workers against their own leaders have dealt a major blow to the CPM at the local level.
