Three forest department officials had a narrow escape from wild elephant in Athirappilly

ATHIRAPPILLY: Three officials of the forest department had a narrow escape after they came in front of a wild elephant at Thumboormuzhi in Athirappilly. They sustained injuries while trying to escape from the elephant. Beat forest officer Sachi and watchers Nadarajan and Manikandan sustained injuries. Manikandan suffered a shoulder fracture.

The incident happened Wednesday morning at 6 am. The officials on patrol rushed to the spot after receiving information that a wild elephant had broken through the solar-powered electric fence in the area and has entered the locality. The elephant then charged along the road, chasing the officials.
