Fire Force searching for missing persons at Nedupuzha in Thrissur

THRISSUR: Two people went missing after a mini boat capsized in a Kole wetland at Nedupuzha in Thrissur on Friday night. The incident occurred at around 8 pm near the Mallithara Kadavu area. Five people were travelling in the boat to feed fish being reared in the wetland when it capsized in the middle of the waterbody. Three of the occupants managed to swim to safety, while two others remain missing.

Fire and Rescue Services personnel are continuing search operations for the two missing persons. However, heavy rain in the area has hampered the rescue operation. Officials said poor visibility due to darkness has also made the search more difficult. Preliminary information suggests that the wetland had been leased by a person identified as Suni for fish farming.
