THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A riot is forthcoming in Congress after Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan openly rejected KSU in the appointment of the government pleader. There have also been allegations that the KC Venugopal faction is secretly fighting against the government, using KSU as a cover.
The incident also worsened when Chief Minister VD Satheesan, who attended a program at Thevara SH College yesterday, ignored KSU state president Aloshius Xavier, who was present at the event. Aloshius reacted, saying that this government was formed with the blood and sweat of KSU people. Meanwhile, KC-leaning minister AP Anilkumar also came forward to alleviate tensions.
The controversy was sparked by KPCC spokesperson VR Anoop's sardonic remark that the Chief Minister allow some time to meet KSU leaders rather than entertaining Hindu Aikya Vedi leaders. Anoop's statement came after the Chief Minister denied time for a meeting with KSU state president Aloshius Xavier. KPCC General Secretary B.R.M. Shafir, meanwhile, came to support Satheesan.
KC supporter Deepti Mary Varghese, meanwhile, said that no leader with a history of serving a jail term for political reasons would criticise KSU. Mathew Kuzhalnadan MLA, who said that people should remember that this is a government elected with great expectations, also targeted the Chief Minister. Minister M. Liju, who said that he did not think the Chief Minister had insulted KSU, supported Satheesan. Minister Roji M. John, meanwhile, took a jibe at KSU and Youth Congress, saying that it was impossible to seek their opinion on all matters.
Ernakulam DCC office bearer Raju P Nair filed a complaint with the KPCC president demanding that Congress spokespersons Jinto John and V.R. Anoop, who criticised the Chief Minister, be banned from channel discussions.
