'I killed her'; Snake master Vava Suresh opens up in rare interview

Vava Suresh, the snake master of Kerala, often appears on television with daring episodes, from taming vipers to catching dangerous King Cobras. However, the latest episode of Kaumudy TV offered a different shade of Vava less known to Malayalees.

In front of his own mother and siblings, 'Vava' is still the old mischievous child. Vava Suresh, his mother, brother and sister are opening their hearts together in front of a camera for the first time. Beyond the smiles and celebrations, this family is mired in ​sadness. Vava Suresh, known for his humanitarian deeds, even risks his life for others. Vava still lives in a modest house. Above all, the biggest pain for him is the health condition of his sister. Vava’s mother tearfully shared the condition of his sister, who is battling a serious kidney disease, and the pain of dialysis she undergoes every week.

" My mother is special among others. Even at this age, she is not dependent on anyone. She still goes to work, and for that reason, she remains healthy. Not many women of her age remain as fit as my mother. We are proud of her in many ways, and she never asks for money from any of us. It is because of her ways and how we were raised that all of my siblings remain in harmony. We have seen the depths of poverty and the hard work of my mother till death, our family will remain united.

In 1996, I got bitten by a cobra for the first time. It was my brother who suggested that I go to a hospital and take an injection. I never took it seriously but visited the hospital later. It saved my life.

On another note, I killed my maternal grandmother. I was four years old or something when my grandmother asked me for water. I took some pickle and porridge and mixed it and poured it on her head." Vava said in a funny tone.

The inner struggle of an elder brother who has to do the dangerous work for others while unable to stay beside his ill sister was evident in the words of Vava Suresh.

Vava's sister told about their mischievous past. They even opened up about secretly trying cigarettes without getting caught.
