
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The official Instagram page of the Kerala Police has crossed the two million follower mark, becoming the first official Instagram account of a police force anywhere in the world to achieve the milestone. The Kerala Police's official Facebook page currently has 2.3 million followers.
According to the Kerala Police, its social media platforms are used to strengthen communication with the public, deliver safety messages quickly and make awareness campaigns more effective. The force said its ability to adapt to evolving communication trends and engage more closely with the public has been a key factor behind the achievement.
The Kerala Police regularly shares content on topics including traffic safety, cyber safety, women's and child protection, anti-drug awareness, disaster management, legal awareness, public service information and recruitment notifications through its social media accounts.
Its platforms also feature short videos, reels, infographics, animations and public participation campaigns.
The official social media accounts of the Kerala Police are managed by Senior Civil Police Officer Arun B.T. and Havildar Nidheesh C. of the Kerala Police Social Media Cell under the supervision of Cyber Operations SP Ankith Ashok.
