NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi turns 75 today. The central government and the BJP will today kick off a two-week grand celebration to mark the birthday of Modi, who was born on September 17, 1950 in Mehsana, Gujarat. On the birthday, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the country's first PM Mitra Textile Park in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh.

As part of Modi's birthday, the BJP will observe 'Seva Pakhwada' (Service Week) across the country for two weeks from today. The Prime Minister will inaugurate it in Madhya Pradesh. Blood donation and health camps, cleanliness drives, environmental awareness, exhibitions, dialogue programs, distribution of equipment to the disabled, 'Modi Vikas Marathon', sports events, painting competitions, etc. will be organized.

Age limit rule to be discussed again

The question of whether Modi will implement the rule that prescribed retirement for leaders like LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi when they turn 75 will be a topic of discussion in national politics. It could also pave the way for a decision on whether the party will give Modi a relaxation and whether he will lead the party in the 2029 general elections. However, there is a general feeling in the party that Modi should lead in the next elections as well.
