NEW DELHI: The police have given permission for the first public protest by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which gained attention through its response on social media. The police gave permission to party founder Abhijeet Deepke after reaching the airport to protest demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. As part of this, heavy security has been arranged in the capital. Thousands of police personnel have been deployed here.

CJP founder Abhijeet Deepke arrived in Delhi from the US at 8 am today. Abhijeet had earlier informed that he would go to the Parliament Street police station to seek permission for the protest at Jantar Mantar along with Sonam Wangchuk, who is known for his Gen C agitation in Ladakh. However, after the police reached the airport and gave permission, they will now protest directly at Jantar Mantar.

Abhijeet had requested the activists not to come to the airport to receive him and instead meet in front of the Parliament Street police station near Jantar Mantar. Abhijeet was afraid of arrest as the central government was suspicious of the moves of the cockroach party. He had said in X the other day that he was leaving his verdict in the hands of the Constitution.

Meantime, the Delhi High Court refused to hear an urgent hearing on a public interest litigation seeking directions to the authorities to take action in view of the law-and-order issues as the crowd gathered for the protest announced today.
