Complainant denies changing statement in favour of MLA Eldhose Kunnappilly, calls it propaganda

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Amidst reports of changing statements in the court, the complainant denied the news and alleged it was a propaganda to tarnish her name in the sexual assault case against MLA Eldhose Kunnappilly. The complainant said that she did not give a statement in favour of the accused in court. The trial proceedings in the case began today in the Neyyattinkara court. The proceedings were held in a closed court. After the identification of the accused, the woman felt unwell and was shifted to the hospital. Following this, the case was adjourned till tomorrow.

Meanwhile, reports emerged that the complainant had changed her statement. However, the woman said that she had not changed her statement and alleged it was part of the propaganda. Four people were in the group for identification. Two of them were identified. By then, she felt unwell and was moved away from the court premises. After that, she requested that the case be considered the next day. She then returned to the hospital. The complainant has decided to move forward with the case. She also admitted to facing serious pressure to withdraw from the case. The complainant clarified that her statement has not been changed.
