THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: DYFI national president and MP A.A. Rahim has responded to trolls targeting him for speaking in English during a media interview while visiting people whose houses were demolished in Yelahanka, Bengaluru. In a Facebook post, Rahim said he has no hatred towards those who troll him and added that he would try to improve his language skills.
Rahim admitted that he has limitations in language, but said that human suffering has only one language. Beginning his post with the words “To those who troll my English…”, he explained the purpose of his visit.
He said he went there to witness the reality of state violence and that they saw around a thousand vulnerable victims who had lost everything and had no voice.
Rahim said he still feels proud of that visit and added that scenes which could have gone unnoticed are now being seen by the world.
He also said that many people who speak different languages fluently are among the trolls, but none of them were seen either there or anywhere near the vulnerable people whose lives were destroyed by bulldozers. He urged people not to focus only on his language, but to also look at the demolished houses and the ordinary Indian citizens affected by the government’s actions.
