THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former minister and LDF convener T P Ramakrishnan said that free travel for women will be an additional liability for Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). Speaking to the media, he also said the government should clarify how it will solve the shortfall in income.

'LDF is not against providing free travel to women. But it should be ensured how to solve the shortfall in income and that salaries are paid correctly. The UDF should pay the Rs 21,000 promised to ASHA workers. The increase of Rs 3,000 is welcomed.

There is no need for a change in leadership in the CPM now. Moreover, the CPM, which collapsed to 17 seats in the 1970s, had made a strong comeback. Will inform stand on the issues related to the defeat after an examination is completed. The allegations regarding discussions in district committees have been exaggerated by the media. If there is a mistake, it will be corrected,’ said Ramakrishnan.
