KOCHI: After the visuals of employees working at marketing firm Hindustan Power Links being subjected to brutal harassment came to light, Labour Minister V Sivankutty sought a report. The minister clarified that this is an incident that should not have happened, and action will be taken against the harassment. The incident came to light through the news. Such harassment should not be repeated. The minister also clarified that the Ernakulam labour officer has been tasked with investigating the incident and submitting a report.

'Kerala is a state that implements strong labour laws. No kind of labour harassment will be allowed. The Ernakulam Labour Officer has been tasked with investigating and submitting a report. Other steps will be taken based on the investigation report. Such things will not be accepted moving forward. No institution will be allowed to operate in this manner. Such an incident should not be repeated with any worker,' said the minister.

Hindustan Power Links is an institution that has been operating in Kaloor for twenty years. The visuals from the branch on Kaloor Janatha Road have now come to light. The company's bosses are carrying out inhuman and brutal torture on employees who do not meet the target. The employees have been subjected to torture, such as walking around with a belt tied around their necks like a dog, drinking water, and licking rotten fruits from the ground.

This brutality is directed at marketing employees who come to homes to sell products. Employees are subjected to torture such as taking off their pants and holding each other's genitals, acting like a dog urinating inside the room, picking up a fruit that someone has chewed and spat, and licking coins on the floor. This method is used to make employees who do not meet the target meet the target the next day.

Many have not responded about this out of fear, as those who respond get threatened. They are paid between six thousand and eight thousand rupees as salary. The torture was done by promising promotions and big salaries if the target is met. Complaints have been filed against this institution before. Women were also victims of this exploitation here.
