KOCHI: The RTI document of the Revenue Department stating that no complaints have been received against Naveen Babu, who was the Kannur ADM, has been released. The RTI document states that no complaints were received during the period when Naveen Babu was working in the post.
The RTI application was filed by public activist and High Court lawyer Adv Kulathoor Jaisingh. The reply under the Right to Information Act was in response to a question of whether the Revenue Secretary's office has recorded in its file that the government has received any complaints against Naveen Babu.
The Revenue Department's investigation report stating that there is no evidence that Naveen Babu took bribe had been sent to the Chief Minister earlier. Minister K Rajan sent the report of Land Revenue Joint Commissioner A Geetha to the Chief Minister. The report states that there is no evidence to the allegation that Naveen Babu took bribe.
Meanwhile, the family clarified that they did not request a Crime Branch investigation into the case related to Naveen Babu's death. Naveen Babu's wife Manjusha withdrew from the legal representation of lawyer S Sreekumar, who had sought a Crime Branch investigation without her consent. Crime Branch investigation was not requested in the appeal filed by Manjusha. The lawyer was not assigned to request it either. The petition only requested a CBI investigation. The lawyer requested a Crime Branch investigation in the High Court on Thursday, contrary to this.
