Ranjith Israel flies to Shirur to aid in Arjun's rescue mission

ANGOLA: Ranjith Israel went on a rescue mission to find the lorry driver Arjun who was trapped under the ground in a landslide disaster in Karnataka. Ranjith Israel is a volunteer who has been involved in rescue operations in the cloudburst in Uttarakhand, the flood disaster in Kerala, the Kavalapara landslide, the Idukki Pettimudi landslide and the Tapovan tunnel disaster in Uttarakhand where an iceberg collapsed.

Ranjith told the media that he is going into the rescue operation voluntarily. Ranjith said that Minister KB Ganesh Kumar has been contacted and will be involved in the rescue operation along with NDRF officials. The first attempt is made to reach near the trek. Five days have passed and they are very upset that they are not using that golden time. He added that only when the place is seen, what kind of rescue operation will be carried out. Ranjith was present as a rescue worker along with the Disaster Response Force during national disasters in the country in the last few years.

Arjun (30) along with his lorry went missing in Kozhikode Kakkodi Kandyankal Mooladikuzhi in Ankola Shirur mountain range of Uttara Kannada district on the Goa-Mangalore national highway. Ten people including Arjun died in the accident. Seven dead bodies were found in the river. Arjun went with a lorry belonging to Manaf, a native of Mukkam, on the 8th of this month to bring wood from Karnataka. The last time he called home was on the 16th. The last day, Bharat Benz Company informed the owner of the lorry that the presence of GPS was at the disaster site.
