THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: N Prashanth IAS yet again made a criticizing Facebook post against high-ranking officials.
The IAS officer said he would not adopt a servile attitude to high-ranking officials even after not doing any wrong. Prashanth is currently under suspension after locking horns with officials on social media. The government had rejected Prashanth's demand to live stream the hearing.
Chief Secretary Saradha Muraleedharan has issued a hearing notice to Prashanth to appear on the 16th of this month. The hearing was requested when the government was considering a departmental inquiry ahead of departmental action against Prashanth. Senior IAS officers have clarified that demanding live streaming of a personal hearing is an unusual step. They pointed out that live streaming is unusual, although video recording is required as evidence.
However, Prashanth's justification was that these matters were requested considering the public interest. Prashanth had sent several letters to the Chief Secretary requesting they be prepared to hear his explanation over the issue.
However, the government remained hell bent on getting Prashanth’s clarification on whether he committed an error or not. The hearing will be held next week as per the instructions of the Chief Minister.
“I belong to that class of officer having no godfather, no expenses exceeding income, no criminal cases, no pedophilia case to settle, dont have tipper lorries or windmill farm in Tamil Nadu, no relatives owning bar, not fawning to journalists.” Wrote IAS Prasanth.
